The Barkers Dozen is helping Friends of Altus Paws raise money through the sale of our most popular organic dog treat varieties. With every sale of the dog treats on this page, all proceeds will help fund the rescue, vaccination and spaying/neutering of homeless animals from high kill shelters in Altus, Okla.
Friends of Altus Paws is a group a volunteers from around the world dedicated to finding loving forever homes for the dogs and cats who find their way into the gassing facility in Altus, Okla. They believe that part of responsible rescue entails making certain that each animal is vaccinated and spayed or neutered before being transported to their new home. This is a costly - though necessary step - and is funded entirely through donations. Their efforts have helped to save the lives of over 500 pets so far, with plans to continue far into the future.
All proceeds from sales go directly toward helping the dogs and cats in the Altus, Okla. shelter embark on their new lives and toward spaying and neutering pets in the Altus area to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens from becoming sad statistics. The first $200 raised will go toward an additional worthy cause - purchasing a microchip scanner for the Altus Shelter so that lost pets can be quickly reunited with their families.
